T- Time, Paper weaving

Hi everyone, Rahmat here, hope you all are having a great day. Today I am sharing a tutorial.
I am showing a paper weaving technique, its pretty simple.
I am showing two different types of weaves here, a plain weave and a basket weave.

For plain weaving:

You will need paper strips of two different colors, the length and width you can choose according to your project, there isn't any specific measure for this, but has to be same for both colors.

Step by step:

1. Line up the strips on your work-board, and secure with a scotch tape at one end, we are working on the reverse side of the weaved pattern, the front is facing down, so don't worry about messing it up ;)

2. lift 2 alternating strips

3. Slip in the other color strip here.

4. This time take another set of alternating strip, the one next to the previous one, and slip in the other color strip.

5. Continue till you reach your desired length of the weave, and once done, trim the excess trips and keep about 1/2" strip, so that we can secure it.

6. Secure the ones, which you can fold in first, you can use a double sided tape, or a glue stick to do this.

7. Lift the left over strips and apply the adhesive to secure it in.

8. Once you are done, turn over the weaved pattern, this is your front, trim the excess strips.

9. Done your pattern is ready to be used for your project.

Here is a card I made using a plain weave.

Basket weave

You will need paper strips of different width here, one is wider than the other, but same color strips.

1. Secure the wider strips to the board with a scotch tape.

2. Follow the weaving procedure we did earlier for the plain strips.

3. The second strip need to be bit far away from the first one, to give a basket weave look, I would say at least 1/2 - 3/4" away from each strip.

4. Finish up the length of your weave

5. Secure in the same way we secure the previous strip, but here I don't secure the wider strip ends, I adjust it with my project and secure it. I mostly make cards, so the length differs from card to card.

This card is another kind of weave, totally different from what I showed just now....will add a tutorial if anyone is interested.

I hope you have enjoyed this T time, and I really hope I had inspired at least one person with this tutorial. I look forward to your comments!

Christmas Tags - Baby Jesus!

Hello everybody! this is Deepti and today is my day to share my inspiration with you all.
Hope you are enjoying our current challenge 'Christmas Tags'. Today I'm here with a purely handmade creation ofcourse! I have done masking using washi tapes and Spiced Marmalade distress ink, the straw was hand made! I cut few strips of card stock and colored them with yellow, orange and brown color pens. Then I ruffled it and placed on the tag where the rays were meeting together! Then I hand drew 'baby Jesus' and water colored with Faber- castell water color pencils. Added clear stickles for some shine!

Here is the closer view of the baby!

I loved this tag so much. My hubby also said 'wow'! I'm so happy with the outcome!
Hope you also liked it. Thank you so much for stopping by!
There is still time to play along the Christmas Tags challenge.. So join in and have fun.. ;)

CHRISTMAS TAGS WALL HANGING

Hello Friends , Its Ramya here... Hope you all are getting ready to enjoy the holidays... This month we are having a seasonal challenge at CSCC  -" Christmas tags".
Today I have 5 different tags to share with you all each conveying a message of the festival.

I made these tags carrying the messages of Santa for Christmas which is  joy, peace, believe, hope and finally merry X mas. Let us see how I created each one of them.

For this tag I have used papers from DCWV paper stack. The flowers are handmade using six petal punch and cardstock. At the center of the flowers I have used Urad dal instead of pollen.

For this tag I  created the background using distress inks and the lines are drawn using black ballpoint pen. The flowers are handmade and distressed using inks.

In this tag I have used pattern paper from recollections for the background and the flowers are handmade using A4 paper and colored using watercolors.

I stuck a piece of newspaper upon the cardstock and applied pink and yellow alcohol inks. Then I embellished the tag using handmade flowers and die cuts.

The last tag is made using glitter foam sheet and handmade spiral roses. The sentiment is handwritten.

I arranged my tags into a decorative christmas wall hanging conveying the messages of the festival. Hope these tags gave you a little inspiration .. Do join us for this month's challenge at CSCC and lets make this season merrier!!!

CSSC #9 - Christmas Tags

Hello blogger friends, Rahmat here, hope everyone is having a kick start to their weekend! We are here with a brand new Challenge at CSSC for this month. The festive season is fast approaching, so our challenge theme matches to it. Yes it is to make :

                                    Christmas Tags

1. Create a Christmas tag, based on any medium you want, but it has to be a tag only.
2. You can enter as many times as you like
3. Only new work please
4. Have fun.. ;)

And the winner will receive a 6x6 Avery Elle paper pad sponsored by Donna Mikasa. Thanks Donna.. :)

I made 2 tags, here is the first one:

I used a white card stock and stamped the STAMPlorations - trendy feather to create the background, using 2 different distress inks - forest moss, and brick fire. Once done with the stamping I rounded the bottom most corners, and added a washi tape and then the sentiment, finally a wreath to finish off the tag.  oh wait, I forgot to mention the festive string, it is a decorative string in shiny green and red color, looked very Christmasy to me, and it goes pretty well with the tag.

The second one:

This one is a simple one, I used a font to create the snowflakes in shades of blue, printed off. and then cut the tag,and sponged the edges with blue pigment ink and added a blue fabric tape, and sentiment, a sheer blue ribbon to finish off, plus added blue and white rhinestones on the snowflakes. Done!

Hope you like both these simple tags. Stay tuned to the blog, more inspiration to rock the blog soon, I had a peek of what is coming up next and you don't want to miss it.
